Overview
whatuserssay uses a minimal set of cookies. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics that place cookies. This page explains exactly what cookies we set and why.
Strictly necessary cookies
Authentication session cookie — when you sign in, we set a session cookie so you stay logged in between page loads. This cookie is essential for the app to function. It expires when you sign out or after an inactivity period.
Without this cookie, the app cannot verify your identity and you would be asked to sign in on every page. There is no opt-out for this cookie while you are signed in.
- Name:
better-auth.session_token(or__Secure-better-auth.session_tokenon HTTPS) - Purpose: Authentication
- Duration: Session / 30 days (remember me)
- First or third party: First party
Analytics
We use Plausible Analytics on our marketing pages. Plausible is a privacy-first analytics tool that does not use cookies or collect personal data. It measures page views and referrer data using a daily hash — not a persistent identifier. No cookie is set.
Plausible is not used inside the authenticated app — only on public marketing pages.
What we do not use
- Advertising or retargeting cookies
- Cross-site tracking pixels
- Third-party analytics that set cookies (Google Analytics, Hotjar, etc.)
- Social media tracking buttons
Your choices
Because we only use one essential cookie (your session), there is nothing meaningful to opt out of while using the app. You can clear your browser cookies at any time to sign out. Blocking the session cookie will prevent you from signing in.
Changes to this policy
If we ever introduce additional cookies, we will update this page and note the change in our changelog.
